I was out in the car today when i passed a rabbit cuddled up against a wall?

I thought it had been hurt by a car it tried to run against the wall but was quite weak i picked it up its eyes were swollen I took this as a sign of myxomatosis I took it back over the road and put it in a field......Is this disease still common in rabbits in the uk.
I'm sorry but I haven't enough experience to diagnose the illness and certainly not enough to kill the rabbit.
