What should be the value of the resistance to be connected to the LED lamp a3V to light from a 230VAC power supply?
If you just want to Hook It Up in series with a shunt resistance (thus wasting a lot of power), the resistance should be about 227 / 3 times the value of the resistance of the LED. This sets up a voltage divider, in which the LED gets 3 volts and the resistance of other waste from the rest.
