Trying to decide between these books for a report.?
My history teacher gave us a book report to do for extra credit. We have to pick from a list she gave us. I'm between A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway and 1984 by George Orwell. If you read either one or both of these books can you tell me what you think? I'm not to particular about length but I'd like to keep it under 600 pages . I'm really interested in history after 1912. Thanks. The other books on the list include

Main Street by Sinclair Lewis
The Naked and the Dead by Norman Mailer

Truman by Michael McCullough
I highly recommend 1984 by George Orwell. It's not a history book, it's science fiction, but it is amazing and very interesting. A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway is a historical fiction, but I found that it dragged a bit. It's a story about a solider at war.
Other books on the list that are amazing are Truman, Invisible Man and Main Street. I've read The Naked and the Dead and Undaunted Courage, but didn't enjoy either of them.
